# What's Raffllrr?
Raffllrr is a decentralized platform that enables NFT holders to place their items for sale via raffle. With Raffllrr, an NFT seller can easily set the parameters of their raffle without 3rd party oversight. Simply choose your ticket price, amount of tickets, run time, and click “create raffle” and you’re done!
# Raffllrr General Guide
### **Raffler credibility**
Check out a raffle creator’s history by clicking on their profile. Some creators resolve their Avvy domain to let them be known, however, this does not apply to all as someone else could hide behind a domain that doesn’t represent them or use alternative wallets to mask suspicious activity. From our point of view, we encourage rafflers and participants to build their “brand” by using one Avvy name to show that they can and will use the site responsibly. Before you enter a raffle, make sure to take a quick look at the raffler’s transactions. If you notice the highest ticket buyer on a raffle happens to have multiple recent transfers or was funded by the creator's wallet, you may want to exercise caution in entering, avoid the raffle altogether, and consider clicking report to get them flagged.
### **Participant visibility**
Buyer addresses with the total number of tickets purchased by each wallet can be seen in the participant tab. Click on the transactions tab to see the complete transaction history including the date and the number of tickets purchased each time. Clicking on the buyer's address will take you to their public Raffllrr profile whilst clicking on tx id will take you to Snowtrace explorer.

# Community Report
Click on “report’ to report suspicious creator activity or fake collections. Suspicious activities may include but are not limited to:
1. Seller raffling the same NFT over and over.
2. Sales contain wallet(s) that bulk purchase the tickets more than the NFT floor price.
3. Recent transactions between the raffler wallet and top ticket buyer.
4. Top ticket buyer was funded by the raffler’s wallet.
## **Flagged sellers**
When we detect suspicious activity, a seller will be flagged. We advise against buying tickets from flagged sellers. You may buy tickets from suspicious sellers at your own discretion; by confirming you understand the risk before proceeding.
# VRF Randomness
We believe that the most basic requirement for a raffle is to be fair and impartial, so we strive to make all Raffllrrs raffles provably fair. Being provably fair means that you don't have to trust that our games are fair, we can prove they are and you can verify it, which aligns with the blockchain mantra "don't trust, verify".
[Chainlink VRF](https://docs.chain.link/vrf/v2/introduction) is the industry-standard source for provably fair, verifiable, and tamper-proof on-chain randomness. [Chainlink VRF](https://docs.chain.link/vrf/v2/introduction) generates both a random number and cryptographic proof, then delivers both on-chain where the cryptographic proof is verified prior to the acceptance of the random number by the consuming application.
Raffllrr uses [Chainlink VRF](https://docs.chain.link/vrf/v2/introduction) (Verifiable Random Function). It is a provably fair and verifiable random number generator (RNG) that enables smart contracts to access random values without compromising security or usability to select raffle winners.
# Creator tips
### **Know the parameters of your raffle**
Most successful raffles have a large ticket supply and low entry rather than a smaller supply with a higher ticket entry. Creating a high ticket cost prices out buyers from entering, whereas lower ticket prices allow both big and small wallets to get involved. Finally, raffles over 24 hours, unless a blue chip NFT, generally don’t fare well. Most volume on a raffle comes in the first and last hour of listing. While you may think “longer raffle = more tickets sold”, a longer raffle length can create a lull where your listing loses visibility.
### **Know the market of your item**
Creating a raffle where the total creator revenue far surpasses the current market price for an item may not achieve the result you desire. Buyers tend to ignore these listings altogether. You can easily view current market data on your items by going to a current listing for that item’s collection where market data is shown under “analytics”. If there is not a current listing for that item’s collection, you can review that data at [Avalytics.xyz](https://avalytics.xyz/).

Ask yourself: is this something you’d buy a ticket for if you wanted the item?

# Buyer tips
### **Understand probability.**
Understand that a 99.9% chance of winning is not 100%, and vice versa 0.01% chance is not 0%! The amount that you enter the raffle does not guarantee a win either. This is the law of probability. The chance of flipping heads in a coin flip 10 times in a row is incredibly improbable but not impossible. The only way you can guarantee winning a raffle is by buying 100% of the ticket supply.
### **Spend only what you're comfortable with losing.**
Raffllrr is supposed to be fun! Keep track of your spending. If you find yourself overcommitting to raffles where it is not fun anymore, take a break. Seek help if it is becoming a problem. Raffllrr encourages responsible raffling.
### **Never assume you will make the last purchase.**
There could be many others who are looking to make last-minute purchases as well. Take note of the maximum possible supply and all the tips in this guide.
